Viagra 50mg tablet contains an active component such as Sildenafil. This medication is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It contains the active ingredient sildenafil citrate, which belongs to a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. It increases blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, which helps men achieve and maintain an erection. Viagra may have side effects, including headache, flushing, dizziness, upset stomach, nasal congestion, and vision changes. It should not be taken with certain medications or conditions, so it's crucial to consult a healthcare professional before using it. Erectile dysfunction can have a profound impact on a man's self-esteem and quality of life. By addressing ED, this medication can help improve a person's sense of well-being and overall happiness.

Individuals with a history of cardiovascular diseases, such as heart problems (angina, heart failure, irregular heartbeats) or recent heart attack, should exercise caution when using Viagra. The sexual activity itself can strain the heart and can further increase the strain by increasing blood flow. Consult with a healthcare professional to assess the risks and benefits in such cases. This medication can cause a mild decrease in blood pressure. Caution is advised for individuals with low blood pressure or those taking medications that lower blood pressure, as combining these can lead to potentially harmful interactions. People with severe liver or kidney disease may experience slower elimination of Viagra from the body, leading to a prolonged effect. Dosage adjustments may be necessary in such cases.

The UK's Medicines regulator has rejected a request by Pfizer to ban Viagra after a study showed it raised Viagra sales by more than 70 per cent.

Pfizer said it had reviewed the study and that it had been persuaded to change the drug's licence after the FDA's advisory panel considered it was "not recommended".

The FDA's advisory panel had earlier recommended that the drug be withdrawn from the market, which has been linked to reports of an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes, in the first quarter of 2017, as it emerged that more than 5 million people had taken the drug.

Viagra is the only drug approved to treat erectile dysfunction.

The FDA's decision came as the body was reviewing the drug's safety.

The review, which involved six studies and eight placebo-controlled clinical trials, concluded that Pfizer's drug was not recommended for use in children under the age of 18.

The review found that in one of the studies, which followed a total of 10,000 young men aged from 16 to 24, Viagra was associated with a 50 per cent increased risk of heart attacks and a 10 per cent increased risk of strokes. In the second study, the group of men who took Pfizer's drug had a 25 per cent increased risk of heart attacks.

The FDA's advisory panel had also recommended that the drug's licence be withdrawn, which was due to be renewed in the next few weeks.

The review's final report was released on 1 May 2018, after the FDA's advisory panel had weighed in against Viagra's use in patients under 18. The regulator called for it to be withdrawn, citing concern that Pfizer's drug could have serious side-effects, including heart problems and sudden death.

Pfizer has denied any risks, and the drugs' licence has been suspended.

The drug is still sold in the UK on the generic form of Viagra, marketed as Viagra Connect.

Last month, Pfizer said it would not be able to launch a generic version of the drug until 2020 due to an increase in the number of people taking the drug in the past.

Pfizer, the UK's largest drugmaker, said on Monday that it was seeking to block a request by the US regulator to allow generic companies to sell its generic version of the drug.

Pfizer's decision follows a similar one by drug giant Eli Lilly and Co, which said it had asked the FDA to approve its use in children under the age of 18, after a similar study showed it raised the risk of an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes in the first quarter of 2017.

The company said it was confident that the drug would be safe in children under 18.

In April, an FDA advisory panel of doctors voted 18 to 6 to approve a new clinical trial of a drug called Cialis, which has been linked to an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes.

A spokesman for Pfizer said the drug had received approval from the US FDA but had been delayed by delays of more than two years.

The company's spokesman said: "We are aware of the concerns raised about Cialis and are planning a review of its use in children under the age of 18."

The drug, which is called tadalafil, is the brand name for the drug cialis.

It comes as the regulator rejected two requests for a licence to sell the drug by the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, which is set to make final recommendations on the next stage in the review.

The companies said they hoped the decision by the FDA would help to steer consumers away from taking the drug.

The company has previously said it has not received any reports of increased sales of its drug.

The regulator rejected the first request for a licence, which came from the US regulator, following a study of about 10,000 men in the US who had taken Viagra.

The study examined Viagra's effects on the male sex hormone-dependence unit in the brain, known as the alpha-2 adrenergic receptor, which is responsible for producing the sexual arousal signals that are necessary for the brain to project.

After the study, Viagra sales fell by more than 50 per cent in the first quarter of 2017.

Viagra was prescribed to over 5 million men in the US and is now prescribed to over 1.2 million in the UK.

In May, Pfizer said it was seeking to block a request by the FDA to allow generic drugmakers to sell its generic version of the drug.
